We have an immediate need for volunteers in the following areas. If you would like to donate any amount of your time, please reach out to the contact listed:
In the category of Visual Arts, Gabriel Kort, won 3rd place for his work Hope in Bloom.
In Photography, Romina Pineda, won 2nd place for her photographic display Flower Power.
Congratulations to our talented Mustang artists!
We hope to have even more contenders in next year’s PTA Reflections Art Show and Contest. Be on the lookout early in the school year for more information on how to participate.
If you can’t wait until then to share your creativity, be on the lookout in January for announcements about our upcoming Talent Show. (Maybe start practicing over the Winter Break!)

Room parents work with their teachers to ensure that every school year is filled with fun, laughter, and memorable moments for our kids. They become support units for our teachers and students in the classroom helping with classroom tasks, art projects, parties, and celebrating your teacher’s birthday. They also lead the charge inside the classroom for many of our PTA events and activities like Mustang Roundup basket donation gathering, Trunk or Treat candy donations, and Teacher Appreciation week, to name a few. You will be receiving an introduction letter from your room parents soon. In addition, they will be reaching out regarding the Mustang Roundup basket donations, which are due by September 28.
We are still looking for room parents for these classrooms: Ms. Baker, Mrs. De Los Reyes, and Mrs. McLaughlin/Ms. Frez. If you are interested in helping with any of these classes, please reach out to our room parent coordinator, Jennifer Salinas at jennifermsalinas@gmail.com.
]]>This is the moment when your little ones can cash in their hard-earned Mustang PRIDE slips for an array of fantastic prizes. Imagine a treasure trove filled with stickers that sparkle, yo-yos and bouncy balls that defy gravity, pens that could write a best-seller – it's a prize paradise! And remember, the bigger the prize, the more tickets it costs.
Teachers sign up to bring their entire class, and individual students can sneak in during their lunch recess for a shopping spree of a lifetime.
However, to make this fun experience come to life for our students, we need your help. We're on the hunt for volunteers to keep the Mustang Store engine running smoothly. Whether you're a master of inventory tracking, a pro at table setup, a friendly face to assist the students, or an expert at packing it all up once the excitement is over – we need your magic touch. We're all set to host the first Mustang Store of the year later this month, but we can't do it without our fantastic community.
If you're ready to sprinkle some Mustang Store magic, please reach out to us at President@sspta.org.
]]>You will find additional details about the food options, what your ticket includes, additional rules and information, overnight parking, and camping options available at the link above.
Our event co-chairs can be reached for event questions, food choice options, donations, volunteer opportunities, etc.: Victoria Skornia (victoria.skornia@gmail.com) and Jennifer Salinas (jennifermsalinas@gmail.com).
Rivers End is located at 13130 Soledad Canyon Rd, just up the road in Bee Canyon. It was originally an RV park but has since grown into an amazing outdoor event space, one that is truly beautiful and captures the essence of our local community, surrounded by trees, a creek, and a pub that serves food, non-alcoholic drinks including non-alcoholic beer, and draft and bottled beer, ciders, and seltzers Wednesday through Monday each week—and it’s within about 5 minutes from our school!

All orders must be placed by Labor Day weekend 09/04, so don’t delay! https://www.stepinhouse.com/product-category/sulphur-springs-elementary-23-24/
]]>The deadline for free personalization is January 1st, 2024, then the price increases to $25. A flyer was sent home last week with a QR code to purchase, you can access the flyer on ParentSquare or you can purchase here: https://www.sspta.org/collections/yearbook
]]>We are thrilled to invite you to the school’s annual "Back to School Night" on August 24th. Please note the district changed the date from August 31st. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your children's teachers, explore the classrooms, and gain insights into the curriculum and classroom expectations.
At Back to School Night, there will be a volunteer training held with Ms. Palacios and the PTA at 4:45pm in the Multipurpose Room (MPR); please join us if you can. For anyone planning to volunteer on campus (or to chaperone on field trips) this year, this training is mandatory. You can attend the training in person at Back to School Night, or online training will be available for those unable to attend in person.
Please also note that there will be a Minimum Day on 08/24 to allow our teachers time to get their rooms ready for visitors. All students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.
]]>
We are welcoming you to walk your child to their classroom on the first day of school, August 10th. Please know that on Friday, August 11th, we will be following normal procedures for drop-off at each of our school campuses.
]]>Time: 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Location: Multipurpose Room (MPR)
Parking: Available across the street
We invite all parents and guardians to join us for a "Meet the Principal" event and a warm "Welcome Coffee" on the first day of school. Starting at 8:30 AM, you can gather in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) for refreshments and an opportunity to chat with other parents and school staff.
At 9:00 AM, our esteemed Principal, Ms. Katie Palacios, will provide a short presentation outlining guidelines, expectations, and some of the exciting highlights planned for the upcoming school year. It's a great chance to learn more about what's in store for our students and how we can collectively support their education.
Following the principal's presentation, we will hold our first PTA meeting of the school year. We encourage all parents to participate and be part of the discussion about upcoming PTA events, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and ways we can enhance our children's learning experiences.
