Read Across America Week is here!

On Thursday, March 2, it’s Read Across America Day.   Mr Newton and the Student Council have been hard at work to bring in some really cool people to read that day.

The PTA is also hosting an event that evening for you and your families, and we hope you’ll all come.  We’ll have our famous SSPTA Book Swap – bring any books, games, or puzzles that your kids have outgrown, and you can look at what other people bring and take home a few you might want to try.  We’re also going to have some fun math and science activities (seriously, they’re cool projects to build and take home and competitions, brain teasers, and maybe even a raffle drawing or two).  AND the Book Fair will be open for parents who want to come in and do their purchasing in-person.  (There will be a gift for all book fair purchases made that evening.)

That’s Thursday, March 2, 5:30pm in the MPR.

The Book Fair will also be open soon for all students.  We’re trying to get classes in on Thursday, during the school day, so students can look around and see what they might want to purchase, and they will return on Friday or next week in order to make their purchases.  Information will be coming home soon on how to send in funds, or you can shop online, starting March 2 (through the 15th) at

The Scholastic Book Fair will also be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences, so stop on by while you’re on campus!
